Matter of Balance
A Matter of Balance is an interactive group workshop. It is ideal for adults seeking to reduce their fear of falling and increase activity levels. Participants learn to view falls and fear of falling as controllable, set realistic goals to increase activity, change their environment to reduce fall risk factors, and exercise to increase strength and balance.
Participating in the workshop activities result in positive change, increased activity, decrease in falls, and the related symptoms. When the program is complete, research shows significant improvements in the way participants view falls as controllable.
This workshop will be led by two certified facilitators each class (Kimberly Brusseau, Sarah Labossiere, Mary Rich). As this class is evidence based, participants must join by Session 2.
This class will be held every Tuesday beginning September 15th for 8 weeks.
