GNG Junior Track (grades Pre K-2nd)
Junior Track is for athletes entering PreK-2nd grade in the fall. This group will meet once a week. Junior Track Participants will learn and practice a variety of track and field events including sprints, hurdles, relays, long jump, softball throw (shotput), and turbo javelin. Coaches will focus on helping participants improve technique, celebrate improvements and most importantly, have fun!!
The season will wrap up with a for-fun track meet experience for kids in the Junior Track program. At the track meet we'll also host a fun run for participants, with obstacles, squirt guns, and more!
Kids entering PRE K in the fall 2026 will likely need support with their online account to assign the correct grade and register for track. Please call Anthony at 207-657-2323 for assistance.
GNG Rec Track Team
Kids who are going into grades 3-9 can compete in USA Track and Field track meets in the area. Coach Sam will be working with these athletes on Mondays and Wednesday to practice the different events and prepare for meets. The kids in this group will have an opportunity to participate in the meets (dates listed below) but are not required to do so, Bus transportation will be available leaving from NG Rec Pineland Center and Gray Newbegin Gym There is an additional $35 annual registration fee due to USA Track and Field in order to participate in the meets. Note that if you are already a USTF member you do not need to pay the fee.
**Please register with USATF before signing up for the track program- we will need to collect the USATF registration number during the rec registration process**
