GNG Diamonds Cheer Team

GNG Diamonds is a competitive cheer program for kids in PK - 8th Grade and is in its 18th year of operation.  Athletes will receive instruction and training in dance, choreography, and cheering for approximately 16 weeks.  In a typical year, competition season would begin mid February and continue through March where the athletes would perform at competitions.  Competitions can be an all-day affair and if you're new to the program, we encourage you to connect with program staff or other parents to make sure you understand the commitment.

It is important for the adults to know that this program is a competitive, team-based sport.  When athletes register, the expectation is that they attend all practices and also communicate illness in a timely manner.  Attendance at practice is for the individual and the team.  Participants should plan on Saturdays in Feb and March for competitions.  If you have questions about what the schedule will be, please call Becky at 926-4735.

UNIFORMS:
GNG Recreation will loan the uniform tops as needed.  Participants are required to purchase team sneakers (approx. $50) and shorts (approx. $20) and are asked to help with fund raising for team bows, socks, awards, and equipment.

PRACTICE:
Will take place at Memorial School.  Please remember to drive slowly in the parking lot! 

Early Season: Sept 12-Oct 17
One practice per week.  Allows for athletes to participate in other fall sports as well.  

Competition Season: Oct 24-Early April 
Two practices per week.  Attendance is expected and absences can affect the flow of the practice for the team.  

Fees:  
The total cost for the season is $320.  This includes approximately 50 practices, at least 5 competitions, a team tshirt, awards, and choreographed routines/music.  50% is due at the time of registration and the remaining 50% is due Jan 12, 2024.  If you would like to apply for financial assistance or arrange a payment plan, please reach out to Sarah ASAP (recdirector@newgloucester.com).

Diamond Gem Parent Exhibition Team: 
GNG Diamonds is excited to offer the parent exhibition team again this season.  Interested parents should register below and Becky will share details about competitions as they get closer.  Registration includes practice time, competition fees and a tshirt!
