Join us for the GNG Backyard CampOUT. A chance to experience one of the great traditions in Maine Outdoor Recreation. As a part of a state wide program sponsored by Maine Parks & Recreation Association

This is a part of a Statewide Recreation Event, with over 27 other communities  participating. So bust out the family tent, unroll the sleeping bags and take part in this fun family event! 

The program is simple, register your household on our website, then start planning what this time old family tradition will be like. That could be getting out the old tent, building your own shelter, or even just hoping in the family camper for the night. As an added bonus each household that registers will receive a “CampOUT Kit” and the first 25 houses will receive a “S’mores Kit.” The GNG Backyard CampOUT is going to be on Saturday, July 10th. Your “CampOUT Kit” will include all sorts of information on all the contests (both State wide and Local), safety tips, activity ideas and maybe even a guidebook that will include campfire stories and recipes to share around the fire that evening. 

CampOUT kits will be available to pick up July 6-9th

This program is not ONLY about sleeping out in the backyard for a night, we want the family to make a day of it. So get out your creative thinking hats as we share some activity ideas and contests that can involve the whole family. This is a great opportunity to celebrate the beauty of Maine and it’s storied history of camping and outdoor recreation.
