Class, Advanced Photography

Photography is a wonderful way to capture memories and is a delightfully creative outlet.
Nathan’s classes take novice photographers through the basics of photography, touching on the history behind film and cameras, through the mechanics of the DSLR cameras. “When we understand how things work, we can then use them as creative tools,” he explained.
Students will learn how lighting affects their images and how to use their individual cameras to capture the pictures they envision. Students will be guided in using their new skills to create photographs they can be proud to display and show to friends.
The four-week course, taught for two hours on Wednesday nights, will start with a basic grounding in photography and cameras in general. Classes will cover creative uses of camera controls and lenses and teach students to use natural and artificial lighting. The final night of the course will tie all the lessons together as students use their skills to create digital images.
Since everyone has their own perception of the “perfect” photograph, Nathan adjusts his teaching to meet individual needs and talents. “We all have separate ways of seeing things,” he explained. “We also have different ways of learning, and I pace my classes to fit my students.”
